DAY PROGRAM
Day 1:
07:00 Departure by bus from Paramaribo to the dam, where we arrive around 10.00. After a brief tour of the dam, the luggage will be loaded in the waiting canoes (boats of the Maroons) and off we go toTonka Island. On the lake we sail between dead tree tops. Arrival around 12.00. At 13.00 we wil have lunch. In the afternoon you can explore the island or go for a swim. At 19.00 we will enjoy our evening meal. After this a social gathering on the beach.
Day 2:
After breakfast we will go for a walk in the woods where there is explanation about the origins and effects of the reservoir, as well as the flora and fauna. Around 13.00 we return to camp for lunch. Then you can relax in the water, in a hammock or just go fishing. The fishers can fill their boots with the Peacock bass. At 19.00 we start our campfire with B.B.Q. , song and dance.
Day 3:
The morning is spent walking, swimming, relaxing or fishing. At 12.00 we have lunch, then we prepare for the journey back to Paramaribo. Paramaribo arrival around 18.00.
